PACE Joins with the Marion County Bar Association on Voter Registration Drive

INDIANAPOLIS – Public Advocates in Community re-Entry (PACE) and the Marion County Bar Association are teaming up on a voter registration drive aimed at those who have been involved in the justice system. The event will take place on National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, September 19.

The event is open to all unregistered voters.

Indiana is one of 20 states that automatically restore the right to vote immediately to people with felony convictions after their release from prison,” said PACE Executive Director Rhiannon Edwards. “However, many people don’t know that and don’t get registered. We want to change that through this drive at our offices, which support justice-involved individuals.”

The voter registration drive on September 19 will take place at the PACE offices located at 2855 N. Keystone Ave., Suite 170, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

“One of the most important ways that Americans can contribute to society is through voting,” said Marion County Bar Association President Amber Finley. “The Marion County Bar Association and PACE want to make it easy to get registered and exercise this important right.”

PACE is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides a variety of services to currently and previously incarcerated individuals and their families to lead productive and responsible lives in their community.
